Flooding Crisis Clergy Demand Sanitation Discipline From Residents

The Bishop-Elect of Compassion Theological University, Prof. Dr. Tweneboah Koduah, has raised grave concerns about the rising incidents of flooding during the rainy season, attributing the situation largely to poor sanitation practices.

Speaking in an engagement with residents and faith-based organizations, Prof. Dr. Koduah lamented the irresponsible disposal of plastic waste and other refuse into gutters, which he described as a major contributing factor to the persistent flooding in many communities.

He urged residents to take collective responsibility for their environment and desist from littering, especially during and after rainfall.

He emphasized that, throwing rubbish into gutters does not only block the free flow of water, but it endangers lives and destroys property.

In a related development, Arch Prophet Dr. Samuel Abeka Mensah has also added his voice to the call for environmental cleanliness.

According to him, churches should go beyond cleaning their auditoriums and compounds by extending such sanitation exercises into their surrounding communities.

He encourages all churches to adopt weekly cleaning exercises, just as we keep our sanctuaries clean,A clean environment is a godly responsibility.

Dr. Abeka Mensah noted that the church has a moral obligation to influence positive change in society, starting with good sanitation practices.
