The Assembly Member for Kpongwunor South electoral area in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality of the Eastern Region,
John Atter Tetteh has announced a GHC100 reward for whistleblowers who reports residents dumping refuse in gutters and unauthorized places with evidence for prosecution.
Speaking to Angel News Reporter, Jaman Dehyee Opambour, he expressed his frustration with the indiscriminate dumping of refuse, which has many choked gutters in the area, causing flooding during the rainy season.
According to him, the GHC100 reward is expected to encourage residents to become vigilant and report any instances of indiscriminate waste dumping to avoid any outbreak of diseases in the area.
Yoweh JoJoyce Kpongwunor Market Linguist with some traders applauded the assembly member and his Unit Committee Members for such initiative which she urged all the residents at Kpongwunor to desist from dumping refuse in the gutters.
*Both made these statements during a Clean up exercise at Manya Kpongwunor in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality.
