The Chairman of the Mobile Money Advocacy Group (Ghana MoMAG), Mr. Edward Ofori Agyeman has cautioned mobile money vendors across the country to be extremely careful in their daily dealings with clients to avoid falling victim to criminal attacks.
He emphasized the need for vendors to adopt strict safety measures and urged the Ghana Police Service to intensify security in areas where vendors are frequently targeted.
Speaking at an indoor games event organized by the association to promote fitness, unity, and morale among members amidst increasing cases of attacks, Mr. Agyeman also warned vendors to desist from flaunting large sums of money on social media platforms such as TikTok, as this could attract robbers and endanger their lives.
Meanwhile, some members of the association took the opportunity to share their personal challenges and risks associated with their work.
They mentioned frequent robberies, lack of security in certain neighborhoods, and network providers not delaying the payment of their commission.
