North Tongu Korsive Community Seeks Okudjeto Ablakwa’s Intervention As Students Study Under Trees

Residents of Korsive in the North Tongu district of the Volta Region are calling on their Member of Parliament, *Samuel Okudjeto Ablakwa*, who also serves as the Minister of Foreign Affairs, to intervene in the deplorable state of Korsive Primary School.
The school’s infrastructure is woefully inadequate, forcing students from *Class 1, 2, 4, 5, and 6* to learn under trees and palm tree sheds.
Speaking with 7DSTV News reporter Jaman Dehyee Opambour at Korsive,
*Oscar Gakpo*, Chairman of the School Management Committee (SMC), noted that, the situation is a threat to education in the area where Snakes and other animals often fall on the students, causing them to run for their lives and disrupting lessons.
According to him, this situation is unbecoming of a community represented by a prominent figure like Samuel Okudjeto Ablakwa.
The SMC Chairman is therefore urging Ablakwa to prioritize the construction of befitted classrooms and toilet facilities for the students as the existing infrastructure is in a deplorable state, which the community believes it’s high time for action.
*Edith Gakpe*, speaking on behalf of the parents, appealed to the Member of Parliament and the government to help solve the challenge.
She noted that the parents are trying to put up a building for the students studying under the trees, but they need support to complete the project.
