Family Grieves Amidst Suspected Food Poisoning Investigation

Evg. Mrs. Georgina Amoako, aunt of the suspected food poisoning victim, Mr. Enoch Amponsah aka Obinna, 40, a native of Dormaa Benekrom in the Dormaa Central Municipality of the Bono region who sadly passed away upon arrival at the Presbyterian Hospital in Dormaa-Ahenkro on Saturday, July 19, 2025, is expressing her distress.
She’s grateful for her nephew’s good nature, but deeply troubled by the disrespectful way some people, especially on social media, are handling his death, even sharing his lifeless body pictures on their phone statuses.
The news spread rapidly on social media, prompting media personnel to reach out to the Dormaa-Ahenkro District Police Commander, DSP Mr. Haruna Dauda, who confirmed the incident.
However, since investigations are ongoing, he’s taking his time to gather facts before speaking further to the media.
They’re currently awaiting a court order to proceed with an autopsy.
The family is appealing for calm and respect during this difficult time, urging people to refrain from spreading insensitive or graphic content related to Mr. Enoch Amponsah aka Obinna’s passing.
