Chief Pledges To Restore Asesewa’s Former Glory

The newly installed Divisional Chief of Asesewa in the Upper Manya Krobo district of the Eastern Region, *Nene Ofei Tagbaja*, has vowed to restore the town’s former glory.

Speaking at his outdooring ceremony, he reflected on Asesewa’s rich history, highlighting the success of its market in the early 19th century (1911, 1922, and 1925) despite lacking modern technologies, the Konor and his ancestors effectively marketed Asesewa to the entire country, earning it the reputation as “A market day at Asesewa.”

Nene Ofei Tagbaja noted that with today’s advanced technologies, including computers and smartphones, the current generation should strive to replicate the achievements of their predecessors in promoting Asesewa’s name.

Nene therefore pledged to attract investors to revive Asesewa’s past splendor.

The District Chief Executive for Upper Manya Krobo, *Emmanuel Kwasi Lawer*, praised the Chief’s efforts and contributions to the district’s development.
