Homowo Cup Arrives In Ho, Promoting Peace And Unity Through Football

As part of its regional tour, the Homowo Cup has arrived in Ho, the Volta Regional Capital. Accompanying the Cup are organisers including Anim Addo and officials of Kpando Hearts of Lions led by their administrative manager.

Mr. Anim Addo thanked the Regional Director for the heartwarming reception, he said a Homowo cup, which is organized by the Gbese Mantse, is aimed at championing development, promote peace and unity between the Volta and Greater Accra Regions.

In a symbolic gesture the organizers presented a cup to the Volta Regional Director of Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, Franklin Agbenyo.

Mr. Agbenyo commended the organizers and encouraged Team Kpando Heart of Lions to win the cup and represent the region well.

Member of the organizing team, Joseph Langabel, called on the chiefs and traditional leaders to emulate the same gesture, citing the Hogbetsotso and Asogli Yam Festival.

The Homowo Cup is an annual charity tournament that promotes peace, unity and football development in Ghana.

It will be played at the Accra Sports Stadium on the 17th August as part of the Homowo Celebration of the people of the Greater Accra region.
