Residents Of Bankrogya Cry Out Over Water Scarcity Due To Galamsey

Residents of Asuosunso Bankrogya in the Ejisu Municipality of the Ashanti Region have expressed deep concern over having to walk three kilometers to access potable water.

According to them, galamsey activities have destroyed their river body, which is their primary source of drinking water.

During a visit by Adom News to report on the community’s challenges, the residents noted that Bankrogya is a cocoa farming community that produces several tons of cocoa annually.

They appealed with the government to intervene in their situation by drilling boreholes, constructing a health center, and rehabilitating their abandoned bridge.

End.
