The Government Has Failed On His Campaign Promise To Cocoa Farmers ..Co-Orperative Chairman Nkwanta South

Following the recent cocoa prices announced by the government The cocoa farmers in the nkwanta South Municipality of the oti region Have expressed Strong Disappointment In the government

In an interview with the Cocoa Cooperative chairman nkwanta South Togbe Sammy He disclosed that the current Government

During the 2024 Election campaign Did promise the Cocoa Farmers in OTI region to increase the price of coca to at least six thousand Ghana cedis But now they see it As a political talk Because the price announced by the government wont help Cocoa Farmers in any way And that the previous government Was not helping cocoa Farmers at all so the current government have come To help cocoa Farmers to get good price for their Cocoa But That is not what we are seeing now We are disappointed so much in the government with this new current price of cocoa.

He added that The government must do something Immediately to help Resolve the prices for Coco Farmers especially oti region so that they can also feel comfortable and produce more cocoa for the nation Because the youth who were having passion in going into Cocoa farming have now been disappointed because of the new price

He therefore use the opportunity To appeal to the government to do something with the new price because the cocoa Farmers in oti Region are not happy with the new price which will not help them in any way so the government must act immediately to do something about the new price

In adadditio the society Chief farmer Nana GyGyimaw has also expressed Displeasure To the government over the new prices of Coco According to him.

He said The new cocoa prices Sounds so much political And The four year is just at the corner if they are saying What they cannot do then they the Farmers will also see what they can do

He also use the opportunity To appeal to the government  because they have been hearing something like Scholarship But here in oti region they have never seen anything like that If If it is true that there is anything like Cocoa scholarship then the government should always make sure that the Farmers will also receive it for their Family It should not be always at the top who receive those scholarship leaving lthe farmers

so the government should make sure that now on the farmers will receive the scholarship directly To support them

Some of the Cocoa Farmers also spoke to Angel news By expressing their disappointment to the government By failing to fulfill his promise.
