Tension Mounts As Gunshots Disrupt Stool Purification Ritual At Abakrampa

Panic gripped residents of Abakrampa in the Abura Asebu Kwamankese District of the Central Region when unknown armed men stormed a traditional stool purification ceremony, firing sporadic gunshots and throwing the gathering into chaos.

The unexpected attack forced chiefs and community members to flee for safety, abruptly halting the sacred ritual.

Police swiftly intervened to restore calm, though no arrests have been made yet.

The Gyaasehene of the Abura Traditional Area, Nana Nkweefi II, strongly condemned the act and called for calm.

He urged individuals with concerns to use legal avenues rather than taking the law into their own hands.

He further emphasized that what the community needs now is development, not conflict.

Nana Nkweefi bemoaned the poor road networks, lack of market infrastructure, and inadequate health facilities, and assured residents that the traditional authorities are engaging stakeholders to push for meaningful development and improved living conditions.
