You Are Our Last Hope, Don’t Disappoint US Like The NPP Gov’t—Chiefs And Residents To Kwakye Ofosu
The chiefs and residents of Agyendam, a farming community in the Abura Asebu Kwamankese District of Ghana’s Central Region, have expressed deep frustration over the poor state of the roads in their area.
Speaking through their chief, Nana Benyin XIII, and during the five-year coronation celebration event, they lamented the neglect by the previous government, the New Patriotic Party (NPP), particularly in terms of developmental projects like road construction.
The residents blame the former Member of Parliament and the eight-year NPP administration for failing to address their infrastructure needs.
Due to bad roads, their farm produce often spoils before reaching markets.
As a result, they place their full hope in the current Member of Parliament, Hon. Felix Kwakye Ofosu, who also serves as the Minister of Communication and is affiliated with the National Democratic Congress (NDC), along with the current NDC-led government.
They have appealed strongly to Hon. Kwakye Ofosu and the government to prioritize road development in their community and the entire district.
The chiefs,Nana Benyin XIII highlighted that despite attempts to get assistance from the previous government, their efforts were unsuccessful, prompting community-led initiatives such as reshaping roads, constructing boreholes, and building a school without governmental help.
The residents warned that if the current government and their MP fail to fulfil these expectations, they will reject future governmental interventions.
In summary, Agyendam residents are anxiously awaiting road infrastructure improvements from Hon. Kwakye Ofosu and the NDC government, seeing them as their last hope for meaningful development after years of neglect by the NPP administration.
