Ayuom Community Pleads For Government Intervention Over Deplorable Road And Bridge

The Ayuom Development Committee in the Bosomtwe District of the Ashanti region has issued a heartfelt appeal to the government, specifically the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, and the Bosomtwe District Chief Executive, to come to their aid and fix the deplorable road and bridge which is situated in between Oforikrom and Bosomtwe District.

Despite government construction of the bridge, it remains unfilled, hindering free passage of residents and vehicles.

In a remarkable display of community spirit, residents at Ayuom have contributed funds, and the Bosomtwe Municipal Assembly has provided drip machines to facilitate the filling process.

However, the community is shouldering the entire burden, covering costs for fuel, constructor fees and even sand for the filling process.

With their funds dwindling, they’re struggling to sustain the project.

“We can’t even buy fuel anymore,” highlights the gravity of their situation.

The community is earnestly seeking financial support from the government and benevolent individuals to complete the bridge filling and also the road construction.

Chairman of the Ayuom Development Committee, Mr. Richard Odame in an interview with Sompa Fm Bawah Baidoo, emphasizes that even if they manage to fill the bridge, the road’s poor condition will still pose significant challenges.

The community is counting on the government’s prompt intervention to resolve their challenge.

Mr Richard Odame.
