Traders Mourn Asantehemaa’s Passing Nana Akwesi Prempeh Pledges Support For Befitting Funeral
The President of the Federation of Kumasi Traders, Nana Akwesi Prempeh, has expressed heartfelt condolences to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, following the passing of Asantehemaa Nana Konadu Yiadom lll.
Nana Prempeh described the late queen mother as the “mother of all traders” due to her unwavering support and leadership for market women and traders in Asanteman.
Nana Prempeh revealed that the traders are deeply affected by her passing, citing her patience, generosity, and decency as qualities that endeared her to all.
He emphasized that Asantehemaa’s impact on the market cannot be overstated, stating, “You cannot mention Asante market without mentioning the name of Asantehemaa.”
The traders’ leader assured Otumfuo Osei Tutu II of their full support in ensuring a befitting funeral for the late queen mother.
Nana Prempeh pledged that the traders will do their best to support the king during the one-week observation and final funeral rites, ensuring that everything goes smoothly.
