Mfantseman MCE Leads Cleanup Exercise Under Mahama’s Clean Ghana Policy

Hon. Eric Stanley Acquah, affectionately called Mfantseman K.K, made a bold statement of leadership in action by spearheading his first cleanup exercise in Mankessim as part of H.E. John Dramani Mahama’s _Clean Ghana Policy.

The effort saw an impressive turnout from all corners of the community, with stakeholders, municipal assembly members, security personnel, market queen mothers, clergy, health workers, artisans, and enthusiastic volunteers rolling up their sleeves to make it a success.

The exercise kicked off early in the morning and concluded by 10 a.m., during which all shops were temporarily closed to ensure full participation.

Afterward, businesses resumed as usual, reflecting the community’s commitment to the initiative.

While expressing gratitude to everyone involved, Hon. Acquah didn’t shy away from addressing a pressing issue.

He highlighted the obstruction of gutters caused by individuals who have built containers, paved areas, or cast concrete over drainage systems.

These actions, he noted, block water flow, lead to foul-smelling surroundings, and complicate desilting efforts.

In his remarks, the MCE issued a stern warning to those responsible, urging them to remove these structures immediately.

Should they fail to comply, the Works Department of the Assembly will be forced to step in and clear the obstructions.

This firm stance underscores his dedication to maintaining a clean and healthy environment for Mfantseman residents.

On a brighter note, Hon. Acquah reassured the people that the long-awaited ultra-modern market promised by H.E. Mahama is still on track.

Funds have already been allocated, and the delay is only due to finalizing architectural plans from Accra to ensure the facility is well-designed and uniform.

The market project is part of Mahama’s _24-Hour Economy Policy_, which aims to boost local trade and fuel economic growth.

The MCE’s leadership style earned high praise from Mankessim market women, who commended his firm yet approachable demeanor throughout the cleanup exercise.

His efforts reflect a broader vision of sustainable development and community empowerment in Mfantseman.
