Taxi Drivers Into Stall At Effia Nkwantia, Suffers Head Injury

The driver of a taxi got injured in the afternoon of August 18 when he crashed into a container stall near the Effia- Nkwanta Regional Hospital.

The taxi driver sustained multiple injuries and was rushed to the hospital where he is currently receiving treatment.

Eyewitnesses recount that the taxi had developed a fault, and while the driver was attempting to fix it, the vehicle suddenly rolled down a slope.

In a desperate attempt to stop it, the driver jumped back inside, but the brakes failed, causing the car to veer off the road and slam into a container along the hill.

The crash has heightened fears among traders operating along the stretch leading to the hospital.

They are appealing to authorities to relocate them to a safer site, citing constant danger from vehicles navigating the steep road.

According to the traders, they were initially stationed about 30 feet away from the hospital but were moved to their current location to make way for expansion works at the facility.

They now describe the area as unsafe and warn that urgent intervention is needed to prevent further tragedies.

Madam Akosua Frimpomaa speaking to the media called on the Member of Parliament for Sekondi Constituency, Hon. Blay Armah Nyameke* to come to their aid as the current trading place given to them by the Effian-Nkwanta Regional Hospital Management threatens their safety .
