Deputy Ashanti Regional Security Coordinator Cracks Down On Smuggled Baby Diapers

The Deputy Ashanti Regional Security Coordinator, Alhaji Alhassan Tapsoba, has intercepted a vehicle carrying smuggled baby diapers at Asafo Market in Kumasi
According to him, they had received intelligence that individuals and companies were smuggling these products into the country without paying duties, and worse still, the diapers were fake.
The intercepted diapers are suspected to have been smuggled from Nigeria into Ghana.
Alhaji Tapsoba stated that they have been given orders to burn all the smuggled diapers to prevent them from entering the market.
He warned those involved in such practices that once arrested, they would be handed over to the police.
This crackdown is part of efforts to protect public health and prevent tax evasion.
Fake baby diapers pose serious health risks to infants, including skin infections, allergic reactions, and other complications.
