The Deputy Minister of Food and Agriculture, Hon. John Dumelo, has reaffirmed government’s commitment to supporting institutions and farmers in the Bono East Region as part of efforts to ensure national food security through feed Ghana policy.
Speaking during a working visit to Nkoransa on Wednesday, Hon. Dumelo noted that Bono East remains the food basket of the country and, as such, the Ministry is prioritizing the region to strengthen Ghana’s food security.

Hon. Dumelo expressed satisfaction with the progress of these institutions and promised to provide all the needed inputs and logistics to expand their work.
He also encouraged farmers and interested individuals to register under the Nkokoketiketi program, assuring them of timely access to fowls and other farming resources.
For his part, Hon. Francis Owusu Antwi appealed to traditional leaders to support the government’s agenda by releasing lands for the implementation of the Feed Ghana program, stressing that land availability is crucial for scaling up agricultural production.
He urged the youth to develop the interest in farming and also I pleaded with the minister to help in creating many irrigation facilities in the region to help whole year farming.
