Police Addresses Media Ahead Of Akwatia By-Election

The Ghana Police Service led by the director general of operations, COP. Dr. Vance Baba Gariba has held a press conference at Akwatia police station in the Denkyembour district on police preparations ahead of Akwatia by-election slated for September 2.

Ahead of the Akwatia by-election slated for September 2, the Ghana Police Service led by the director general of operations, COP. Dr. Vance Baba Gariba has addressed the press on their preparedness and mode of operations in the constituency.

He emphasized that 5,500 police personnel have been deployed into the Akwatia constituency who have familiarized with the people already and 600 trained armed police patrol men will also be patrolling in the constituency to deal with any mayhem.

He further advised the Akwatia constituents to stay calm, ignore fears of the number of police personnel in the constituency and come out in their numbers to vote for their preferred candidate on September 2.

He has therefore cautioned the media to stay away from fake news publications during the Akwatia by-election and also advised that a media personnel without accreditation should stay out from the by-election coverage.
