Three Sentenced 20 Months Imprisonement For Examination Malpractice In Kasoa

The Ofaakor District Magistrate Court in Kasoa has handed down sentences to three individuals found guilty of examination malpractice during the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
The convicts include Samuel Armah, a teacher at Ghana College SHS, and two students, Kwame Oteng Nkansah and Amedeka James.
Samuel Armah was caught with leaked answers to Social Studies Paper 1 on his mobile phone and dictating these answers to candidates while invigilating.
Kwame Oteng Nkansah, a Level 100 student of Accra Technical University, impersonated Quayson Francis Atta of Ghana College SHS during the Social Studies papers.
Amedeka James, a Level 100 student of the University of Ghana, impersonated his twin brother, Amedeka Justice, of Ghana College SHS during the same papers.
After reviewing the evidence, the court delivered its judgment.
Samuel Armah was fined 80 penalty units and sentenced to 8 months’ imprisonment. Kwame Oteng Nkansah and Amedeka James were each fined 80 penalty units and sentenced to 6 months’ imprisonment.
Speaking to the media after paying unannounced visits to the Examination centres, the Municipal Chief Executive Hon. Seth Sabah Sewornoo-Banini noted that some lapses which has to with congestion, improper sitting arrangements were seen has instructed for it to be looked in order to ensure proper conduct of the rest of the papers.
On his part, the Municipal Education Director Mr. Frank-Etrue Hayford condemned the incidents of malpractice and thus reiterated his commitment in ensuring better Conduct of the exam.
