Your Taxes And Levies Will Be Used Judiciously – DCE Assures Assin North Residents

Hon. Sylvester Amakye Nyarkoh, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Assin North, has assured residents that all taxes and levies collected by the Assembly will be put to prudent and transparent use to improve the lives of constituents.
Speaking at the Assin North District Assembly’s maiden meeting for the 2025 fiscal year, the DCE emphasized that funds from property rates, building permits, and other local levies would be channeled directly into infrastructure projects and essential services that will positively impact communities.
“These revenues will be used for tangible developments—classroom blocks, educational resources, health facilities, market centers, and improved road networks such as the Assin Sienchem and Akonfudi Camp roads,” he said.
“We are committed to ensuring that every cedi collected brings visible results and better living conditions.”
As of August 31, 2025, the Assembly had mobilized *GH¢215,659.18*, representing *64.74%* of its Internally Generated Fund (IGF) target of *GH¢333,110.38* for the year.
The DCE described the performance as encouraging and attributed it to residents’ growing confidence in local governance.
Hon. Nyarkoh further appealed to residents to continue supporting the Assembly by honoring their tax obligations, assuring them that their contributions would be managed with accountability and integrity.
Nana Konagye Ampaw II, Chief of Assin Endwa and Chairman of the Assin North Traditional Council, also lauded the District Assembly for organizing such an important forum to engage key stakeholders on the development agenda of the area.
He, however, expressed concern about the number of abandoned and stalled projects scattered across the district.
He appealed to the authorities to take urgent steps to complete these projects so they can serve their intended purpose and bring relief to the affected communities.
