Kpone Youth Stage “Enough Is Enough” Demo Over Roads, Water And Land Disputes

The Kpone Okpokli Youth Association, together with residents of Kpone in the Kpone-Katamanso Municipality in the Greater Accra Region, have staged a massive demonstration dubbed “Enough is Enough” to draw government’s attention to what they describe as years of neglect and underdevelopment in the municipality and then sending a strong warning to TDC Ghana limited not to interfere into they’re land issues.
Clad in red and black attire, the angry protestors poured onto the principal streets of Kpone, chanting and holding placards with inscriptions such as “Fix Our Roads Now,” “We Need Clean Water,” and “Resolve Our Land Issues.”
According to the youth, the deplorable state of roads in the community has not only slowed economic activities but has also contributed to frequent accidents and transportation challenges.
They lamented that successive governments have made promises to fix the situation immediately .
The demonstrators further raised concerns about erratic water supply, noting that many households are forced to rely on unsafe water sources, exposing them to health risks.
Another major grievance highlighted was the unresolved land boundary disputes in the municipality, which they said has fueled tension among residents and threatens peaceful coexistence.
Leaders of the demonstration led by the chairman of association Mr Emmanuel Clifford Nuertey Doku Anum presented a petition to the Kpone-Katamanso Municipal Assembly, demanding immediate government intervention.
Speaking to the media, some of the protesters stressed that if their concerns are not addressed urgently, they will intensify their protests in the coming weeks.
On behalf of the assembly Mr Ibrahim Ali Amadu the coordinating director of the assembly received the petition and thank the protesters for making a peaceful demonstration, he said.”
