Traders To Adhere To Manhyia Palace Directive Amidst Asanteman Funeral Rites

Traders in the Central Business District of the Ashanti region are complying with the Manhyia Palace’s directive to close all markets and shops tomorrow.

This is due to the final funeral rites of the late Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III, taking place on Thursday, September 18, 2025.

The closure aims to honour the memory of the late queen mother and allow residents to participate in the solemn rites.

In an interview with our reporter Bismark Mensah, the traders confirmed that sales have declined mostly due to the directive and the funeral rites.

“But we hope to have a bumper sales after the funeral rites.”
