Local Government Ministry Trains Assin North District Assembly Staff On Smart Workplace System

In a bid to enhance operational efficiency across district assemblies, the Office of the Head of Local Government Services, in collaboration with the Assin North District Assembly, has organized a one-day intensive training workshop on the Government’s Smart Workplace Platform.
Speaking after the session, Mr. Jonas Martey Lartey, Human Resource Manager of the Assin North District Assembly, explained that the workshop aimed to equip staff with practical skills and knowledge to effectively adopt the digital platform.
The Smart Workplace System is designed to streamline administrative processes by eliminating the dependency on physical paperwork.
“This platform reduces delays in service delivery and simplifies critical tasks like document filing, searching, and records management through automation,” Mr. Lartey noted.
He emphasized that beyond enhancing productivity, the system would also cut down operational costs for the Assembly.
The training focused on essential modules such as document management, virtual collaboration tools, secure internal communication, and digital workflow integration, all aimed at boosting institutional efficiency, transparency, and service delivery.
The District Chief Executive of Assin North, Hon. Sylvester Amakye Nyarkye, commended the initiative, noting that it aligns with the broader vision of President John Dramani Mahama to “reset Ghana” by investing in human resource development and digital transformation.
He urged all staff to fully embrace the platform and utilize it effectively to serve the public better.
Meanwhile, some beneficiary staff shared their daily challenges with manual documentation and expressed optimism that the new system would ease their workload and enhance job satisfaction.
