A tragic incident occurred at Mpasatia in the Atwima Mponua District of the Ashanti Region on Wednesday, October 8, when an electrician in his 40s lost his life while attempting to fix an electrical fault in a residential building.

The deceased, identified as Kofi Electrician, who reportedly lived at Nkawie, was said to have been contracted by a landlady, Madam Fati Adams, to fix an earth wire on her three-bedroom house, which already had electricity installed but was experiencing electrical challenges.

According to information gathered by Angel Tv/FM and confirmed by residents, the electrician was working on a wooden ladder around 2:30 p.m. when he suddenly fell and died instantly.

Sources said Madam Fati Adams had gone to the market to buy foodstuffs to prepare a meal for the electrician at his request. Upon her return, she found him lying motionless on the ground.

Shocked by the scene, the landlady reportedly tried to touch him but was jolted by an electric shock, prompting her to call for help from nearby residents.

Residents described the deceased as a well-known electrician in the area who often undertook electrical works in the community.

Police from the Toase Divisional Command later arrived at the scene and conveyed the body to the Afari Hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy.

Meanwhile, investigations have commenced to determine the exact cause of death and whether proper safety measures were observed during the electrical work.
