15 Eastern Region MPs Endorse Dr. Bawumia For Npp Flagbearership

In a significant show of support, 15 out of 23 Members of Parliament in the Eastern Region have declared their backing for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

Dr. Bawumia’s endorsement by the Eastern Region MPs is a significant boost to his campaign, coming on the heels of similar declarations of support from other prominent figures within the party.

With the NPP’s presidential primary scheduled for January 31, 2026, Dr. Bawumia’s campaign is gaining momentum, and his supporters are confident that he is the right person to lead the party to victory in the 2028 general elections

The MPs, who are part of the NPP’s parliamentary caucus, expressed their support for Dr. Bawumia during an interview with Van Brown Angel News Reporter.

Hon. Kofi Ahenkorah Marfo, the Member of Parliament for Achiase Constituency and spokesperson for Dr. Bawumia’s campaign, cited the former Vice President’s humility, respectfulness, and ability to bring unity to the party as key reasons for their endorsement

Marfo emphasized that the election is an internal contest with five candidates vying for the party’s flagbearership, and therefore, there is no need for insults or acrimony.
