MMDCEs Receive Has 80-88% Of Assembly Common Fund, Pledge To Work Hard

The National Secretary for MMDCEs, DCE for Ekumfi district and regional Deen for MMDCEs, Hon. Ishmael Nana Asamoah, has assured Ghanaians that 80-88% of the Assembly Common Fund allocated by the government has been received by MMDCEs nationwide, including those in the Central Region.

Speaking at a two-day workshop organized for MMDCEs in the region, in an interview with Douglas Oyiboh Amponsah, Asamoah emphasized that this is the first time such a significant amount of funds has been released for development in the various districts and municipalities.

The workshop aimed to educate MMDCEs on government initiatives and the “Big Push” programs under the leadership of *His Excellency John Dramani Mahama*, with a focus on using the funds for development.

Asamoah warned MMDCEs against engaging in corruption, stating that anyone found guilty would face serious consequences, including dismissal from office.

Presidential Staffer and Central Regional Deputy, Chief Mark Dalli*, also addressed the MMDCEs, urging them to work hard to achieve the government’s goals.

He emphasized that most of the MMDCEs are new to government and have a chance to prove themselves, warning that underperformance within two years would lead to dismissal.

In response, the MMDCEs expressed their commitment to using the funds wisely for the development of the Central Region, focusing on key areas such as roads, healthcare, and educational infrastructure.

They thanked the NDC government and the leadership for the support and education provided through the workshop.

This initiative reflects the government’s commitment to decentralization and local development, and it will be interesting to see how these funds are utilized to improve the lives of Ghanaians in the various districts.
