Nananon Call For Development As They Peacefully Celebrate The 5th Anniversary Of The Late Dr. Obeng Wiabo V, Alongside Outdooring Of The Newly Gazetted Odikro For Gomoa Nyanyano

The anniversary has coincide with the official outdooring ceremony of the newly Gazetted Odikro in Gomoa Nyanyano

The chiefs and people in the area celebrated the 5th anniversary on the theme: “Promoting citizens’ responsibility for Nyanyanoman’s development”.

The newly Gazetted Odikro Nana Kwame Addy Wiabo Vll Known in private life as Mr. Addy Zack ascended the throne on May 31, 2024 . He succeeded his late uncle Dr. Nana Obeng Wiabo Vll.

The Ankobeahene of the traditional area Nana Ayi Quaye, who was the Chairman of the 5th anniversary celebration was assisted by Nana Opusu the Odikro of Gomoa Tarkwa, to celebrate the anniversary at the Gomoa Nyanyano palace.

Nana Kwame Addy Wiabo Vll said the celebration, which officially took place on October 15th , 2025 in remembrance of the late Dr Nana Obeng Wiabo V was to bring the oneness as well as peace and tranculity between chiefs and people of Gomoa Nyanyano in the Gomoa East District of Central Region.

According to Nana Ayi Quaye the Ankobeahene of Gomoa Nyanyano, the late Dr. Nana Obeng Wiabo was committed to the social and economic well-being of the area, hence, the formulation and adoption of an educational fund a medium-term strategic development plan for school children across the length and breadth in the area .

We are going to continue the legacy of the late Dr. Nana Obeng Wiabo V which contains youth development, agriculture, education, health, tourism and resource development.

Ankobeahene Nana Ayi Quaye further hinted that, the late Dr Obeng Wiabo V was someone who loves to educate his people so he made efforts to put up basic school infrastructure in over six various communities under Gomoa Nyanyano stool.

On his side, Nana Kwame Addy Wiabo Vll speaking to the gathering during the 5th anniversary and outdooring ceremony indicated that, they have so many challenges but the most pressing one is their deplorable road network from Fiifi Prat to Gomoa Nyanyano township.

He added that, some other challenges are poor sanitation which is seriously affecting livelihood hence urging the Gomoa East District Assembly to attend to their plea.

In addition, Nana Addy Wiabo V stated that, land owners who purchased piece of land and refuses to develop the land after two years will risk loosing the land forever, if you are not ready to build don’t come and by land at Gomoa Nyanyano, he warned land owners.

He has however, advised the youth to desist from basing in various ghettos and stop smoking indian hemps or marijuana but run find work to do in order to better their lives because the devil finds job for the idle hands.
