Termite-Infested Electric Poles Spark Fear In Soko Community

Residents of Soko in the Afigya Kwabre North district of the Ashanti region are living in fear due to the deplorable state of their electric poles.

The 13 poles in the community have been ravaged by termites, rendering them susceptible to collapse.

The residents are worried that the poles could topple over at any moment, causing harm to people and property.

According to Angel Tv News reporter Bismark Mensah, who visited the community, the residents revealed that the poles’ condition has plunged the town into darkness. Non-functional bulbs cannot be restored because electricians are unable to climb the termite-damaged poles.

The residents are calling on the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Emmanuel Aguma, to intervene and address their challenges, including the lack of water in the community.

They emphasized that the community’s expansion necessitates additional water supply.
