Residents Hail MP For Launching “One House, One Meter” Project

Residents of several rural communities in the Agona East District have hailed their Member of Parliament, Hon. Queenstar Pokuwaa Sawyer, for launching a landmark electrification initiative dubbed the “One House, One Meter Project.”

Speaking with Angel TV reporter Nana kojo Asare, the project seeks to provide each household in the affected villages with an individual electricity meter, bringing long-awaited power supply to communities that have lived in darkness for more than 20 years.

According to Hon. Pokuwaa Sawyer, the initiative forms part of broader efforts to ensure equitable access to national resources and to fast-track rural electrification under the government’s energy development agenda.

Excited residents expressed deep appreciation to the MP and the government for finally fulfilling their dream of having electricity, saying the project will greatly improve education, healthcare, and local businesses.

The “One House, One Meter Project” is expected to transform the lives of thousands and stimulate development across the Agona East District.
