Galamsey Fight Ban All Galamsey Equipment Entering The Country – Ghanaians to Gov’t”

The fight against illegal mining, popularly known as galamsey, has reached a critical juncture in Ghana.

Despite the government’s efforts, the menace continues to ravage the country’s land and water resources.

In a bid to bolster the government’s efforts, a section of Ghanaians has come up with a plan to implement.

They have called on the government to ban the importation of galamsey equipment into the country as a matter of urgency.

According to them, since the equipment used in galamsey operations are all imported, banning their importation would deal a significant blow to the illegal mining activities.

They emphasized that the Ghana Immigration Service and the Port and Harbour Authority should strengthen our borders to prevent the importation of such equipment.

Any galamsey equipment found at the ports should be set ablaze to prevent its use.

Ghanaians stressed that the fight against galamsey is not just one person’s fight, but a collective responsibility that requires decisive action from the government.
