Wassa Amenfi East MCE Urges Muslim Youth To Leverage Free Apprenticeship Initiative

The Municipal Chief Executive for Wassa Amenfi East, Hon. Raymond Nana Ebbah has encouraged Muslim youth to take advantage of the free National Apprenticeship Program.

Nana Ebbah highlighted the program’s potential to tackle youth unemployment and equip young people with skills for economic empowerment in Wassa Amenfi East in the Western Region and Ghana as a whole.

According to the MCE, the program, initiated by President John Dramani Mahama, aims to provide young people with relevant on-the-job experience and market-ready skills.

The Amenfi East MCE made the remarks at the Maiden Annual District Islamic Convention and Fundraising at Wassa Akropong.

He told the gathering that by participating in the National Apprenticeship Program, youth can gain valuable skills and experience, enhancing their employability and entrepreneurial prospects.

Raymond Nana Ebbah announced that beneficiaries of the National Apprenticeship Programme (NAP) will receive a monthly stipend of GH¢500 during their training.

Additionally, master craftsmen will be eligible to receive GH¢200 per apprentice.

Hon. Raymond Nana Ebbah generously donated GH¢10,000 to support the Muslim community during their Maiden Annual District Islamic Convention and Fundraising.

The event aimed to raise funds for the construction of an Islamic Nursing College in Wassa Akropong.

Hon. Ebbah commended the Muslim community for their unity and contributions to Amenfi development.

He assured them of the assembly’s support for educational and social advancement projects with the aim to construct teacher training college.

The MCE told the Muslims that newly recruited Arabic teachers will soon be posted to teach Arabic education in Islamic schools in Amenfi East.

This move, according to him, is expected to enhance the quality of Islamic education in the area.

The MCE noted that the proposed Islamic Nursing Training College will benefit from these teachers, ensuring that students receive quality instruction.

With well-resourced teachers, the college will be well-equipped to provide quality education to the Muslim community.
