Bompata Residents Vow To Resist Mining Activities On Their Land

Residents of Bompata in the Asante Akyem South municipality, Ashanti region, have taken a firm stance against mining operations on their land, citing concerns over environmental degradation and social vices.

The community organized a peaceful demonstration to express their grievances and appeal to authorities for support.

The residents fear that, their only source of water body for the community called Subin will be affected.

During the demonstration, Mr.Joseph Baah, the convener for the aggrieved residents, spoke to the press, highlighting the potential negative impacts of mining on their land and water resources.

The residents are seeking intervention from President John Mahama, the Minister for Lands, and traditional leaders, including Nana Effah Appenteng and Otumfuo.
