‎A fire outbreak at Mpatasie in Berekum East of the Bono Region displaces more than twenty people after a seven-bedroom house is completely destroyed.

According to eyewitnesses, smoke was first seen coming from one of the rooms before the entire building catches fire. Several distress calls are made to the Ghana National Fire Service, but officers arrive at the scene without a fire tender.

‎Residents attempt to control the blaze with buckets of water, but their efforts prove futile. Fire officers later arrive from Nsuatre, but by the time they reach the scene, the house is already burnt to the ground.

‎One tenant reportedly collapses, and several properties are lost to the fire.

‎Some residents are appealing to government and their Member of Parliament to replace the broken-down fire tender to help provide a lasting solution to frequent fire incidents in Berekum.
