Chief Calls On Government To Fix Deplorable Road At Agogoso To Akantansu

The Chief of Akantansu in the Atwima Mponua District of the Ashanti Region has urgently called on the government to rehabilitate the community’s severely deteriorated road network, highlighting its impact on daily life and economic activities.

Nana Agyenim Boateng, the Akwamuhene and caretaker chief of Akantansu in the Atwima Mponua District has issued a heartfelt plea to relevant authorities to urgently address the appalling state of the local roads.

In an interview, the chief stressed that the deplorable condition of the road poses a significant threat to farmers, who struggle to transport their produce to markets; to drivers, who face constant risks of accidents and vehicle damage; and to residents, whose mobility and access to essential services are severely hampered.

He noted that during the rainy seasons, sections of the road become impassable, leading to spoilage of perishable goods and isolation of the community.

Seizing the moment, the Assembly member for the Agogoso Electoral Area, Hon. James Amponsah, echoed the chief’s concerns and appealed directly to the District Chief Executive to expedite the procurement and construction processes.

He emphasized that making the road motorable would boost local trade, improve safety and enhance the overall quality of life for hundreds of residents in Akantansu and surrounding areas.
