Kwanyako Water Restored — Presidential Staffer Confirms

Kwanyako Water Works is back in full operation after weeks of disruption, a Presidential Staffer has confirmed.

During a study tour in the Central Region, stakeholders renewed calls for stronger collaboration in the fight against illegal mining, popularly known as galamsey, to protect Ghana’s water bodies and forest reserves.

Speaking to Angel TV’s Nana Kojo Asare, the Commander of the Army Combat Training School, Colonel Robert Narh, led a team of twenty-one army students to the Kwanyako Water Works as part of a fact-finding mission.
He stressed that only collective national action can put an end to galamsey and safeguard natural resources for future generations.

Presidential Staffer and Central Regional Political Coordinator, Chief Mark Derry, revealed that the Kwanyako facility is now producing safe and potable water.
He urged the public to ignore false reports, assuring that the plant is functioning at full capacity.

District Chief Executive for Agona East, Hon. Samuel Oscar Mensah, expressed appreciation to President John Dramani Mahama, the MP for Agona East, Queenstar Pokua Sawyerr, and all stakeholders for their commitment in resolving the water crisis that affected about ten districts.
