Swedru–Winneba Road To Receive Major Facelift—Dce Gives Assrance

The District Chief Executive for Gomoa Central, Hon. Hackman Kwabena Aidoo, has assured residents and road users that the long-awaited rehabilitation of the Swedru–Winneba stretch will soon begin.

According to the DCE, the government has finalized processes for the full construction of the road, and contractors are expected to move to site within the shortest possible time.
He therefore appealed to drivers, transport operators, and residents to remain calm as the necessary groundwork is being completed.

Speaking to Angel TV reporter Nana Kojo Asare, Hon. Aidoo emphasized that the poor condition of the highway has been a major concern for both the district assembly and the central government, adding that steps are being taken to ensure a lasting solution rather than temporary fixes.

As part of interim measures, the DCE inspected the ongoing reshaping works being carried out on several roads within the Gomoa Central District.
These maintenance activities are expected to ease movement while residents await the full reconstruction of the Swedru–Winneba road.

Hon. Hackman Kwabena Aidoo reaffirmed the assembly’s commitment to improving road networks, boosting economic activities, and ensuring safer travel for commuters.
He urged the public to support government efforts and disregard misinformation surrounding the project.

The DCE concluded by assuring the public that the government remains focused on enhancing infrastructure across the Central Region for improved development.
