Ahodjo-Nsawam Residents Escape Midnight Blaze As FireTender Fails To Respond

Ahodjo a community in Nsawam-Adoagyiri Municipality in the Eastern Region escape midnight Fire outbreak as fire tender fails to respond.

Speaking with Angel News Reporter Van Brown said, we were deeply asleep, and we heard people screaming that our house is burning, the front doors locked, so we forced it open and fled the burning building, clutching only the clothes on their backs.

Within minutes we called the Nsawam Fire Service station, only to be told that the fire tender was out of service.

The station’s officers on duty explained that the vehicle had suffered a mechanical breakdown and could not be dispatched so they immediately called the Suhum Fire Station for assistance, the Nsawam crew remained on standby, hoping the neighboring unit would arrive in time.

By the time the Suhum fire engine arrived, the house had been reduced to ash. All the house was burnt, we could not pick anything, the distraught homeowner and tenant lamented.

Miraculously, no one was injured in the incident, but the family lost all their possessions and personal belongings.

We are calling on the government to fix the Nsawam fire tender, which is currently out of commission.

This is a big municipality, and we can’t afford to be without a functional fire tender,” Hon Commander said.

The community is still grappling with the aftermath of the fire, with residents expressing their frustration and disappointment over the lack of response from the authorities.

We need help, we need support.

The government should please come to our aid and fix the fire tender. We are counting on them, a resident said.

End.
