Ga South Father, Stepmother Arrested At Kokrobite For Killing 13yrs Old Daugter For Eaten Left Over Food

A husband and wife have been arrested by the Kokrobite District Police in the Ga South Municipality of the Greater Accra Region for allegedly beating their 13-year-old daughter to death.

The incident occurred after the couple accused the girl, Celestine, of eating leftover food belonging to her younger sibling. The stepmother, Grace, informed her husband, Issah, of the alleged theft upon his return from work, leading to a violent assault on the girl.

Eyewitnesses in an interview with Angel news said, the father, Issah used a cane, shovel, and cutlass to beat the girl, who eventually succumbed to internal bleeding. The couple left the girl unattended, and she died shortly after.

Neighbors reported the incident to the police, leading to the arrest of the couple. The husband had initially fled the scene but was later apprehended.

Speaking to the Opanyin Darko, an elder sister of the deceased’s biological mother condemned the actions of the father, citing a history of abuse.

She demanded justice for the daughter, stating that the father was known to be abusive.

The police are investigating the matter, and the couple is currently in custody.
