Dce Urges Pwd’s Against Street Begging

The District Chief Executive for Kwahu Afram Plains South in the Eastern Region,Moses Tangmee, has made a passionate plea to people living with disabilities (PWDs) in the district to desist from begging for money on the streets.

He emphasized that the government has taken significant steps to support them, providing resources to help establish their own businesses and improve their livelihoods.

DCE made this appeal during a ceremony in Afram Plains South, where he presented support to 56 PWDs.
The beneficiaries received a range of items, including fridges,cassava grinding machine, electric sewing machine, and cash donations.

The DCE stressed that the government’s support is meant to enable PWDs to become self-sufficient and contribute to the development of their communities.
He urged them to utilize the resources provided to generate income and improve their living standards, rather than relying on begging.

Some of the beneficiaries expressed heartfelt gratitude to the government for the support, acknowledging the positive impact it will have on their lives.

They pledged to use the resources wisely and encouraged their peers to focus on building their own businesses rather than begging on the streets.
