President John Dramani Mahama Inspected The Ongoing Construction Works On The Ofankor-Nsawam Road

President John Dramani Mahama inspected the ongoing construction works on the Ofankor-Nsawam road today, December 3, 2025.

The project, which is 75% complete, is expected to be finished by the end of the second quarter of 2026.

Mahama urged the contractors, Maripoma Enterprise Limited, to maintain a smooth flow of traffic while working on the road and to use quality materials.

The President also expressed concern about the project’s funding, questioning why the initial loan was exhausted before completion.

He emphasized the importance of the road, which connects Accra and Kumasi, and assured that the government is committed to supporting the project under the Big Push Programme.

The Minister of Roads and Highways, Kwame Governs Agbodza, accompanied the President on the inspection and stated that the government has cleared over $77 million in arrears owed to the contractor.

The project is expected to ease traffic congestion and improve transportation in the region.
