Kumasi Mayor Appeals To Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints To Build School In Ashanti Region

The Mayor of Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly, Ofori Agyemang King Zuba, has appealed to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to establish schools in the Ashanti Region.

He made this call when the church launched this year’s “Light the World” program in Kumasi, aimed at supporting the aged and widows during the Christmas festivities.

King Zuba praised the church for maintaining clean surroundings and urged other churches to emulate their good sanitation practices.

He noted that the church is disciplined and has a good reputation in the region, but currently lacks a school.

Mr. Kofi Kyei Sosu, Area 70 of the Latter-day Saints, explained that the “Light the World” program is a way of showing kindness to those in need, particularly the vulnerable.

He also touched on issues of religious intimidation in schools, calling on the government to implement laws regulating such practices.

According to Mr. Sosu, Ghana is a peaceful country, and it’s essential to maintain this peace by promoting tolerance and respect for all religions.

The church’s program aims to bring joy and support to those who may be struggling, and they hope to inspire others to do the same.
End.
