Daboase Shits School Feeding Matron Arrrested For Alleged Food Smuggling

The Wassa East District Police Command has arrested Madam Esther Aframoah Asante, the school feeding matron at Daboase Senior High Technical School (SHTS) for allegedly smuggling food items meant for students under the School Feeding Programme.

According to reports, a national security operative in Daboase had been monitoring the matron’s activities for some time, suspecting her of diverting food supplies.

On Tuesday evening, around 6:30 p.m., the operative trailed a tricycle (Pragia) believed to be transporting the allegedly diverted food items and alerted police stationed at a checkpoint on the Daboase to Takoradi road.

Police subsequently arrested the tricycle rider P- Kay and seized several items, including multiple bags of rice, gallons of vegetable oil, and boxes of tin tomatoes and boxes of mackerel believed to belong to the school.
