Full Scholarship For Top WASSCE Performers…..Nkoranzaman Chief Pledged

In a landmark announcement that has sent waves of optimism through the heart of the Bono East Region, the Nkoranzamanhene, Nana Kwame Baffoe IV, has pledged to personally fund the full university education of any student from his paramountcy who secures 8As in the West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

The audacious pledge, aimed at students pursuing critical disciplines like Medicine, Engineering, and Law, was declared during a pivotal meeting of the Nkoranza Traditional Council on Tuesday, 9th December 2025.

The initiative, according to the Overlord, is a strategic investment to “build and develop the human resource base” essential for the future of the Nkoranza Traditional Area.

“Education is not an expense; it is the most vital infrastructure we can build for our people,” Nana Kwame Baffoe IV stated with conviction. “When we educate a child, especially in these fields of national need, we are not just transforming an individual life.

We are planting a seed that will grow to provide healing, innovation, justice, and leadership for our entire community.

An educated citizenry is the true wealth of Nkoranza.”

The Nkoranzamanhene, who is also the first son of His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, framed his pledge not as a solitary act of charity, but as a clarion call.

He passionately appealed to all stakeholders—indigenous citizens at home and abroad, the Nkoranzaman Development Forum, and development partners—to rally behind a concerted push to elevate educational standards across the area.

His words underscore a profound truth: Education is the great equalizer and the engine of sustainable development.

It breaks the cycles of poverty, empowers the youth with knowledge and critical thinking, and equips communities to solve their own challenges.

By targeting top performers in fields crucial to national development, this initiative seeks to create a generation of professionals who will inevitably return their expertise to build their homeland.

The scholarship announcement is not an isolated gesture but part of a broader, meticulously planned educational offensive. Nana Kwame Baffoe IV revealed that “plans are far advanced” to systematically enhance quality education in Nkoranza through a tripartite partnership between the Traditional Council, the Development Forum, and well-meaning citizens.

This strategy is already in motion. Just last month, the Omanahene demonstrated this commitment by donating library books to 14 selected schools across the Nkoranza South Municipal and Nkoranza North District.

In a significant expansion of this support, he promised to extend the book donation project to schools within the Kintampo North Municipal and Kintampo South District, which also fall under his expansive paramountcy.

The meeting on Tuesday, therefore, served as both a declaration of intent and a strategic council of war against educational underachievement.

The message from the Nkoranza Traditional Authority is clear: the future of Nkoranza will be built not only on the rich foundations of its culture and land but, more importantly, on the cultivated intellect and skill of its sons and daughters.

As the news spreads through the towns and villages, from Nkoranza to Kintampo, a new fire of aspiration has been lit in the hearts of students and parents alike.

The royal promise has redefined what is possible, turning academic excellence into a tangible gateway to a fully-funded future and, ultimately, a means to serve the beloved homeland.

The challenge is set, and the race for 8As has just taken on a profound new meaning for every child in the Nkoranza Traditional Area.
