Poor Network Connectivity Hiding Academic Excellence At Bonsawire M/A Basic School…..Head Master Revealed

The Headteacher of Bonsawire M/A Basic School in the Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipality of the Western Region, Mr. Daniel Mensah, has expressed concern that the school’s outstanding academic and extracurricular achievements remain largely unknown due to poor network connectivity in the community.

Mr. Mensah, who also serves as Vice Chairman of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), said the school is performing exceptionally well across all sectors of education and deserves public recognition.

He made this statement during the school’s Speech and Prize-Giving Day, which was combined with the official launch of the school’s 65th Anniversary celebration scheduled for 2026.

According to the Headteacher, the lack of reliable network access has prevented the school’s successes from reaching a wider audience over the years, despite the dedication of teachers and the impressive performance of pupils.

As part of the ceremony, Mr. Mensah honoured hardworking and long-serving members of staff who have served the school for over ten years.
The award items included 43-inch television sets, double-door refrigerators, rice cookers, and other essential home appliances.

These items were personally financed by the Headteacher as a gesture of appreciation for the teachers’ commitment and loyalty to the school.

He therefore urged the government to do something about the network issues.

The Municipal Chief Executive for Tarkwa Nsuaem, Hon. Ebenezer Cobbinah, a proud alumnus of the school, graced the occasion.

He expressed pride in his roots and described his success as evidence that quality education in rural communities can produce great leaders.

He encouraged parents and guardians to take education seriously and use his journey as motivation to support their children to achieve higher goals.

The Divisional Chief of Esikuma Bonsawire Nana Ampong Kwesi II, also addressed the gathering, highlighting the school’s steady progress since its establishment.

He called on residents of Bonsawire to continue supporting the school, noting that it has produced several prominent individuals, including the current Municipal Chief Executive.
