Private Schools Cry Foul “Unfair Treatment” Sparks Outrage

Private schools in Ghana are crying out for a bigger slice of the pie! Mr. Kweku Badu Amponfi, CEO of By His Grace Preparatory School, is speaking out against the unfair treatment of private schools, saying they’re being left out in the cold when it comes to school placements and resources.

Amponfi believes it’s high time private schools got the recognition they deserve, especially since they’re contributing just as much to the education sector as public schools.

“They all learnt the same books,” he pointed out, wondering why the playing field isn’t level.

Speaking at the 10-year anniversary of By His Grace Preparatory School, Amponfi also highlighted the struggles Ghanaians face finding jobs abroad, blaming it on a lack of practical skills.

“Ghanaians are better in entrepreneurial skills,” he said, arguing that with more focus on TVET education, students could gain the skills needed to succeed.

Amponfi is calling on stakeholders to prioritize TVET education to tackle unemployment and equip students with skills that can take them far, both locally and internationally.
