I Am Ewe Chief, Not Parmount Chief Of Nanglayoo – Torgbui Dzidzienyo I Clarifies

The Ewe Chief of Nanglayoo at Dawhenya in the Ningo-Prampram District, *Torgbui Mawuli Gawu Dzidzienyo I*, has firmly dismissed claims that he is parading himself as the substantive chief of Nanglayoo.

According to him, such reports are false and misleading, stressing that his role is strictly as the Ewe Chief of Nanglayoo, a position conferred on him by the chiefs and elders of the Aden Darpoh family of Dawhenya five years ago to oversee the welfare and affairs of the Ewe community resident there.

Torgbui Dzidzienyo I  stated that he would not, under any circumstances, undermine the authority of the traditional leadership of Nanglayoo, emphasizing that he holds the highest respect for the custodians of the land who installed him.

He further noted that he cherishes the cordial relationship existing between himself and the traditional authorities and pledged not to take any action that could jeopardize the peaceful coexistence and mutual respect they share.

Torgbui Dzidzienyo I reiterating his commitment to peace and unity, the Ewe Chief said he remains ready to work closely with the chief and opinion leaders of Nanglayoo to promote harmony, peace, and development in the area.
