Nation’s Transformation Depends On You – Don’t Join The Ranks Of Unemployed Graduates, TTU VC Tells Students

The Vice-Chancellor of Takoradi Technical University (TTU), Rev. Prof. John Frank Eshun, has challenged graduates of technical universities to take responsibility for Ghana’s transformation by applying the skills and knowledge they have acquired, rather than joining the growing number of unemployed graduates.

According to him, it is worrying that graduates from technical universities, who have been trained with practical knowledge, technical skills, and values, still remain unemployed when they possess the capacity to create solutions to national problems and reduce unemployment.

Rev. Prof. Eshun stressed that graduates are expected to be drivers of national development and agents of change, urging them to eschew unproductive lifestyles and focus on innovation, entrepreneurship, and problem-solving to move the nation

He made these remarks at the 26th Congregation Ceremony of Takoradi Technical University, where over three thousand students were awarded degrees and diplomas in various disciplines.

Speaking on behalf of the Western Regional Minister, Hon. Joseph Nelson, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for EKMA, Hon. Abdel Mageed, congratulated the graduates and highlighted the opportunities that lie ahead.

He reminded them that the world of work is rapidly changing, driven by technology, innovation, and global competition.

Hon. Mageed encouraged graduates to uphold values such as hard work, integrity, creativity, and lifelong learning.

He added that graduates should serve as ambassadors of Takoradi Technical University and contribute meaningfully to the development of their communities and the nation.
