Two In Critical Condition, 18 Injured As Sleeping Driver Causes Accident At Gomoa Buduatta

Two passengers are reported to be in critical condition as 18 others sustained various degree of injuries after a sleeping driver with the name Joseph Aidoo driving a Sprinter Bus with Registration Number: GW-6287-25 from Keneshie heading towards Takoradi.

An eyewitness who was also a passenger on board the vehicle, observed the driver intermittently dozing during the journey and cautioned him several times to stay alert and reduce speed.

Upon reaching Buduatta Junction, the driver lost control of the vehicle, veered off the road, and somersaulted into a roadside gutter, landing on its roof with all four wheels facing upwards.

Bystanders, including workers from a nearby block factory, promptly rescued the occupants.

All casualties, including the eyewitness, were transported to the Dabenyin Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) Compound and Potsin Polyclinic for immediate treatment.

Drivers are urged to exercise heightened responsibility and caution, especially during this 2025 Christmas festivities.
