Assin North MP Supports Health Directorate With Medical Equipment To Boost Health Services

The Member of Parliament for Assin North and Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. James Gyakye Quayson, has presented a consignment of essential medical equipment to the Assin North District Health Directorate to support Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compounds across the district.

The items, valued at over GH¢35,000, include 2 sets of GLC-BIG-M6 Digital BP Monitors, 3 oxygen cylinders (10-litre capacity) with trolleys and flowmeters, 2 stainless steel delivery beds, 1 examination bed, infusion stands, 5 ambubags (for both children and adults), 5 examination lamps, and episiotomy scissors.

Hon. Quayson said the donation forms part of his commitment to improving healthcare delivery in the constituency. He emphasised the critical role of well-equipped CHPS compounds in providing timely and quality care at the community level.

“When the people are healthy, the nation prospers,” he remarked, urging the health directorate to ensure the items are distributed promptly and used efficiently to serve the intended purpose.

Receiving the items, District Health Director Dr Jethro Brobbey expressed heartfelt gratitude to the MP for the timely intervention.

He noted that many CHPS facilities had been grappling with severe logistical challenges, and described the donation as a much-needed relief that had come at the right time.
