Mfantseman Municipality Kicks Off Development Projects: CHPS Compound, School, And Borehole Construction Begins

In a significant move towards community development, the Mfantseman Municipality in the Central Region has initiated the construction of a CHPS compound, a school, and a borehole in AmisaKrom, Saltpond Akaful, and Baifikrom within a day.

The sod-cutting ceremony, led by the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Eric Stanley Acquah, and the Member of Parliament MP Dr. Ebenezer kojo Arhine, marks a major step in the government’s agenda, spearheaded by John Mahama, aimed at job creation and progress.

During an interview Douglas oyiboh Amponsah, the MCE for Mfantseman, Hon. Eric Stanley Acquah, highlighted the long-standing need for improved healthcare in AmisaKrom his own hometown, expressing optimism about the new CHPS compound. He urged the contractor to expedite the construction, setting a six-month deadline for completion.

The projects are expected to significantly improve the quality of life for residents, providing access to essential services and resources. The initiative is part of a broader effort to revitalize the community.

Hon. Dr. Ebenezer Kojo Arhine has emphasized his commitment to the Mfantseman constituency, stating that the three communities were the first he promised to prioritize for development during the campaign season.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony earlier today, Dr. Arhine urged Sikasam contractors to expedite the project, aiming for completion within six months.

Crucially, the MP stressed the importance of local workforce participation. While the Forman can be from Sikasam, the labor force – including laborers, carpenters, and other skilled workers must be sourced from the local communities.

This initiative, Dr. Arhine explained, is central to his vision of creating jobs and fostering progress, ensuring that residents have access to opportunities and are not left struggling.

The construction of CHPs compounds in these communities, he added, is a top priority, with the goal of preventing premature deaths among pregnant women and the sick.

The project is expected to significantly improve healthcare access in the area.

AmisaKrom – Following the sod-cutting ceremony led by the Odikro Kyeame, residents of AmisaKrom and surrounding areas are expressing their hopes for the swift and complete execution of the announced development project.

Community members are emphasizing the importance of seeing the project through to completion, urging the MCE, MP, and the appointed Sikasam contractor to adhere to the proposed six-month timeline. Concerns were raised regarding the potential for the project to be stalled or abandoned, and residents are keen to avoid a situation where the initiative is used for political gain without tangible results.

The community expressed their gratitude to the MCE and MP for prioritizing their needs, acknowledging that the project was a key promise made during the campaign season. They are now eagerly anticipating the realization of the promised developments.
